In July 2024, PCC proudly led a delegation of over 40 U.S. faculty and students to Shandong Province for a two-week cultural exchange program, following an invitation to the Shandong Province 2024 International Youth Exchange Conference. Co-hosted by the Shandong provincial government and several prominent organizations, this event aimed to foster global youth interaction and mutual understanding, with a special focus on strengthening ties between Chinese and American teenagers.

Under the theme "Hello! Shandong," the conference brought together more than 500 young participants from 28 countries. As an invited organization, PCC leveraged its expertise in education and global perspective to facilitate the participation of its delegation in a wide range of activities, including the opening ceremony, the International Youth Gala, and eSports friendly matches. These engagements not only allowed students to immerse themselves in Shandong’s rich history and culture but also created a platform for meaningful cross-cultural dialogue and collaboration among international youth.

Throughout the program, PCC’s particpants visited renowned institutions such as Shandong University and Jinan Foreign Language School, while also exploring cities like Qingdao, Zibo, Tai’an, and Jining. These visits provided a comprehensive understanding of Shandong’s cultural heritage, green low-carbon development initiatives, and rural revitalization achievements. In Jinan, students toured the Spring Water Conservation Area and advanced equipment manufacturing facilities, gaining insights into Shandong’s strides in environmental sustainability and technological innovation. At Qingdao Port’s automated terminal, they witnessed firsthand the efficiency and allure of high-quality development. Additionally, students savored the unique flavors of Zibo-style barbecue, experiencing the vibrant local culture and booming tourism industry.

This exchange offered educators and students an unparalleled opportunity to deepen their understanding of China, particularly Shandong Province, while forging lasting friendships with peers from around the globe.
